An image from the stunning Lake Agnes in the Canadian Rockies after a snowfall from the night before. It was difficult to process this image as the entirety of the photo is rather bright due to the snow and my photos tend to lean more on the darker side. But I decided to switch things up a bit here and go for a bit of a brighter edit than usual; and I'm quite happy with how it turned out. This lake was absolutely stunning and totally worth the 8km roundtrip of hiking in the snow. The day before I went up here, a decent amount of snow had fallen throughout Banff National Park. So the trail heading up to Lake Agnes was very snowy and quite slippery. Fortunately for myself, I was actually smart enough to pack my cramp-ons before leaving for my trip. I slapped those on my feet before heading up the trail, and man did that ever make things a million times easier. I think out of the 100+ people I saw on that trail that day, maybe 4 others had cramp-ons while the rest had to slip and slide around on the trail. It pays to come prepared. If you're ever going somewhere where you may be hiking in snow, bring the spikes.
A moment of clarity during a foggy 3-day hike up in the mountains of Vancouver Island.
