Urban Twilight
Quite possibly one of my favorite photos that I took on my whole trip to the Eastern side of the States these past few weeks. I've always wanted to capture the city lights at night from an elevated point of view. And I finally got my chance to during our first evening in New York. As I watched the light fade away and the lights of the city begin to turn on, I realised that the shot I was wanting wasn't actually going to be captured during the night. Instead, the best possible conditions would be at blue hour, when the sky was still somewhat lit up and the colours were pronounced throughout the scene. At the same time, you'd already be able to see the city lights beginning to come alive. Blue hour sure makes for some picturesque conditions, especially when you're up on top of a building and looking down on the city.
